What is flatulence?

A healthy intestine produces gas when it breaks down from food gases such as carbon dioxide or methane. Bloating (flatulence) occurs as soon as these substances occur in excess and then escape through the anus. Medically speaking, between two typesof flatulence decide. In the case of so-called primary flatulence, the phenomenon itself forms the disease. Secondary flatulence refers to flatulence that occurs as a symptom of other underlying diseases or problems.

When does flatulence start?

  • Lack of exercise
  • Illnesses such as Hypothyroidism, neurological disorders, Diabetes, Rheumatism and Intolerances
  • Constrictions in the intestines up to intestinal obstruction
  • psychological stress

What are possible symptoms of flatulence?

To the typical symptoms  of flatulence include: 

  • "wind"
  • a reduced stool frequency
  • hard stool consistency
  • a feeling of incomplete bowel emptying
  • feeling of tension
  • stomach pain
