In a video consultation you talk to avi GPs by video, with no travel and no waiting room. It is available throughout Germany. We advise you, issue a sick note or prescription if needed and refer you to specialists where necessary.

Yes, if your symptoms can be assessed without a physical examination. The doctor decides during the consultation whether a sick note is medically appropriate. By video, a sick note of up to three calendar days is possible. If you have had an in-person appointment at an avi practice in your city within the last three quarters, it can be up to seven calendar days.

No. For people with statutory health insurance, the sick note is sent electronically to the insurer (eAU), and your employer retrieves it from there. You still have to notify your employer that you are ill yourself. Privately insured patients receive a certificate to pass on themselves.

A follow-up sick note by video is only possible if the first one was issued after an in-person visit to the practice. If you were signed off by video and are still ill, please book an appointment at an avi practice.

When your symptoms need a physical examination, for example severe pain, persistent high fever or unclear symptoms. In that case, please book an appointment at the practice. In emergencies such as shortness of breath, chest pain or impaired consciousness, call 112 immediately.

Yes. For people with statutory health insurance, the insurer covers the full cost. Privately insured patients and self-payers receive an invoice under the German medical fee schedule (GOÄ), which private insurance reimburses depending on the plan.
