What is Migraine?
Migraine is much more than just a headache — it's a complex neurological disease. Typical symptoms are pulsating, often one-sided headache, often accompanied by nausea, vomiting, light and noise sensitivity. Some patients have aura phenomena before the headache (e.g., visual disturbances). Migraine attacks can last hours to days and severely impair daily life. We offer comprehensive diagnostics and modern treatment options — from acute medications to modern preventive therapies (CGRP antibodies).
OVERVIEW
What it's about
Certain internal and external factors, known as triggers, can promote migraine in susceptible individuals. These include, for example, disrupted sleep-wake cycles, hormonal fluctuations during the menstrual cycle, stress in the form of physical or emotional strain, as well as certain foods such as chocolate or red wine.
What Should I Do If I Suffer From Migraines?
Book an appointment at one of our avi practices. Through a structured consultation, a pain diary, and a clinical examination, we will attempt to identify the type of headache and, in the case of typical migraine, initiate the appropriate treatment. Everyone has individual trigger factors that can provoke a migraine attack. These will also be investigated through a detailed medical history.
