Frequently asked questions
Will avi be covered by my health insurance?
Yes, all statutory and private health insurance companies cover the treatment in full. In addition, we offer self-pay services on request, which you can find under our "Services".
How can I cancel or change my appointment?
Simply via the app or the link in your confirmation email.
How does a video consultation work?
You can make the video consultation directly from the avi app or via the link from the appointment email via a website.
What if I can't find my "reason for visit" - can I specify something else?
If you cannot find the reason for your visit in the booking process, simply select “family doctor’s consultation”.
What if there are no more appointments available?
We have a high demand - therefore it can sometimes happen that only a few appointments are available. However, we open up extra appointments every day for urgent matters. So please check back regularly.
Will avi take over my existing health information if I switch to you from another primary care doctor?
Due to data protection, we do not have any data about you unless you have been to a previous practice of ours. Please bring any relevant findings with you to your first visit so that we can get a better picture of your medical condition.
I have a new family doctor. Can I have my health data deleted?
If you change your family doctor, you generally have the right to request that your health data be deleted. This is regulated by Article 17 of the General Data Protection Regulation, which states that personal data must be deleted when they are no longer necessary for their original purposes. However, there are important exceptions that must be noted. Health data may not be deleted if there is a legal retention requirement, such as a 10-year retention period in accordance with Section 630f Paragraph 3 of the German Civil Code (BGB) after completion of treatment. The data may still need to be stored if it contains important information that may still be relevant after the statutory retention periods have expired, such as medication intolerances. Longer retention may also be required if relevant to potential claims for damages, which may be made up to 30 years after the harmful conduct. In each case, an individual assessment is required to determine whether and which data can be deleted, depending on legal requirements and the importance of the information for your health. It is recommended that you discuss this matter directly with your new or old primary care physician to ensure that your health information is handled correctly.
